Meet the Team
Owner/ Artistic Director
Shannon was born with her feet in ballet shoes! Growing up in her mothers studio in Raynham, Massachusetts she knew dancing was her lifetime calling. As a senior in high school she was recruited to dance for a company in Germany in the Worlds Dance Championship.
Shannon went on to graduate Suma Cum Laude from Dean College in Franklin, MA with a dual-degree in Dance and Business, while being a member of their dance team and company. Her love for dancing never died. After finishing college she went on to dance at Mohegan sun for the WNBA CT Sun where she served as the team captain for three of her five years with them. Some of her highlights have been performing on national television with Rascal Flatts and Taylor Swift!
In 2013 she decided to set down her roots and open Dance Expressions RI- holding the name of her mothers studio. While in the studio she shares her passion and love for all types of dance and gives every dancer the opportunity to succeed and thrive in their own ways. When she hangs up her dance shoes, Shannon stays busy with her husband and three active amazing little boys!
Lauren grew up studying dance for twelve years at Legein Dance Academy, in Rhode Island. She is a graduate of Dean College and has a Bachelors Degree in Dance and Performing Arts. While attending Dean she was a member of their Dance Company and Dance Team and performed each year in their musical productions. She was awarded two Dance Department Scholarships, performance awards and was named on the Dean's list each semester.
She is the founder of Kinetic Synergy Dance Company, an adult dance and fitness company, where she has created a space for adults to assemble, create and inspire one another. Lauren has contributed her talent for dance at multiple studios including the Art in Motion Dance Studio of North Kingston, RI, The Dance Studio of Easton, MA, but has dedicated to inspire and support dancers of all ages at Dance Expressions RI since 2013.
Nicole started dancing at the age of seven and danced competitively for eight years. She graduated in 2011 from Jacqueline Walsh School for the Performing Arts where she majored in dance and studied ballet and modern dance. She also holds a bachelor's degree in Communications with a focus in Public Relations from Rhode Island College and currently works as an Assistant Director at a child care center in Warwick.
Nicole began teaching alongside Mrs. Shannon in 2011 at the Feinstein Scholar Dance Academy in Cranston RI, and has been a part of Dance Expressions RI since the beginning. She brings an enthusiastic creative teaching style, passion and patience for dancers of all ages.
Angel Correia has been dancing since she could walk. Her passion for dance developed at a young age, being raised in her mother and sister’s dance studios. For seven years she danced at the Feinstein Scholar Dance Academy where she performed in numerous numbers at every show. She began dancing at Dance Expressions RI when they first opened in 2013 performing in countless competitions around New England. She has won many awards, placed as a top soloist and has been recognized for her talent, technique, and poise on and off the stage.
Angel was also one of the youngest members of Kinetic Synergy’s Dance Company for four years. Dancing on stage isn't her only passion, she’s developed a love for creating dance routines for other dancers. She has been choreographing since she was in middle school in school plays and the visions have gotten bigger and better with every routine, choreographing award-winning
routines at regional and national competitions, specializing in Hip Hop, Contemporary and Jazz.
After graduating high school in 2021, she continued her passion for dance and joined the teaching staff at Dance Expressions RI.
Lucia started her dance career with the nationally recognized Leggz Ltd. Studio in New York at the age of three. During her time there she performed as a part of the ensemble in several recitals, charity events, news features, The Nutcracker Ballet and at Walt Disney World. She later joined local studios on Long Island and continued her training in ballet, contemporary, hip-hop, jazz and tap. She continued her passion for dancing as the President of the Roger Williams University Dance Club in Rhode Island where she choreographed various contemporary, hip-hop, and jazz pieces and performed in up to eight dances a semester. She also showcased her talent for other campus events such as the Hawkettes Benefit Show, Midnight Madness and Autumn Fest.
Lucia is a member of the Kinetic Synergy Dance RI company and has been a part of Dance Expressions RI since 2021 where she enjoys helping develop young dancers.
Kelly Moeller Rabe
Kelly Rabe began her dance training at Tri-Cities Academy of Ballet under the direction of Debra Rogo in Richland, Washington. Kelly earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts, Summa Cum Laude, from the University of Arizona School of Dance in 2013. Highlight performances included principal roles in George Balanchine’s Rubies, Allegro Brilliante, The Four Temperaments, and the CHICAGO Suite set by Ann Reinking and Gary Chryst, as well as Arizona Theater Company’s The Great Gatsby and Arizona Opera’s Abduction from the Seraglio.
Kelly joined Rochester City Ballet in 2013. Where she spearheaded RCB’s outreach program providing ballet education to students from underrepresented backgrounds through the after-school program Quad A for Kids. Kelly and her husband currently dance for Island Moving Company and she is delighted to be teaching at Dance Expressions RI since 2021.
